It’s been a while since my last tattoo, so I gave my buddy Grant (who’s one part in band Brothers Hand Mirror) a buzz and set up a ‘stick and poke’ tattoo date.
I guess I should explain the meaning behind this new tattoo? “Where nobody can save me ’cause the smoke is my baby, baby” originally a Lykke Li lyric from the song ‘Rich Kids Blues’ but the way I saw it or interoperated it – was a description of my love for the big city, being in the middle of the hustle and bustle where everything is happening – the ‘big smoke’ and my lust to make it to New York on my own terms – where nobody can save me.

Bloody hell Jamie!! You’re game! I’ve seen lots of traditional hand tapping before but nothing like that. Is that a kitchen skewer Grant is using? (His blog is riveting BTW)!

I love this method, so much easier and safer on the skin. Little healing needed.
It’s not a kitchen skewer haha! It’s a tattoo needle he gets and tapes to a plastic straw, dips the needle and pokes you for two hours. Interesting experience.
